Photographer’s Note
This is another shot of Paddington Station from my last trip to London.
------------------------------------------------------------
Post Production:
I wanted to compliment the past and present theme of this photo by emphasizing the new train against the backdrop of a rustic old station. I applied gaussian blur and desaturation to everything but the train, and then lowered the opacity to give it a dream-like effect.
I hope you all like it!

Very nice PP work Dan...I like the dreamy effect very much. I like that the train still looks normal. You know if it weren't, there would be several workshops "correcting" for the sharpness:) I do like the bright colors of the train contrasting with the dullness of it's surroundings. Very good job!

Good technique using a soft focus to emphase the target, still you can improve by a gradiant to dark from the trains head to the right border, this would push even more the attention to the target and at the same time reduce the misty effect on the right taking too much attention now. All these said I would applaude that you take some impact on a photo as an artist to enforce your personal view . BTW ever thought of a gradaint to sepia to enforce new to old ? I made an example for myself but your WS is closed, so unable to show. Good work Dan.

There is something magical in this shot, naybe thanks to your postprocessing and maybe because of the arched roof and the excellent light that coming in through it. The woman with the bag is just on the right place. Very well done, Dan.

Interesting shot..although I am not a fan of the effect youve created here..it just looks like its overexposed.

A very good composition again. very good depth here. The lady in black on the right balances the frame very nicely. as a result of the post pro you applied here, the light is soft and surreal and that adds to this shot. Very impressive work Dan.

I like this shot. But I don't like the haziness on the right. Excellent transportation composition. Nice colours.
... on a separate note: I could really use some coffee now. I got to work late (forgot about holiday bus hours!), and now I'm just ready to pass out. Happy Thanksgiving Dan!

I like your PP work. The light in the background is nice and the way that train create depth in the picture also. Good work.

Fine attempt, and a most handy note. The effect you demonstrate here achieves your past and present intention nicely.
Well done for transforming a pants image into a respectable effort.
