This is the castle of Miramare, maybe the most beautiful attraction here in Trieste. Built in 1856 by Maximilian, the brother of Franz Joseph, with a superb park. Maximilian, anyway, preferred political adventures and died shortly after in Mexico, during some fights.
The day this piture was taken was particular. You see the strong waves. But the wind, in this case, was not the famous Bora. On the opposite, it was a south-west wind, the "Libeccio", that rarely blows here in such a manner. This wind creates bigger waves than Bora because the shores here are all facing south-west.
From the technical point of view: it was a really strange light, partially cloudy, with a cold Sun. The original picture was darker and non saturated. i was really disappointed when I saw it. With just one click on auto-levels, however, it got these richer colours. Slightly cropped and sharpened. Eq. focal lenght 380 mm.
