Photographer’s Note

Howdy Trekkies,
Today the picture taken on O'Connell Street, Dublin.
From Wikipedia:
O'Connell Street (Irish: Sráid Uí Chonaill) is Dublin's main thoroughfare. One of Europe's widest streets, it measures 49m (160ft) in width at its southern end, 46m (150ft) at the north, and is 500m (1650ft) in length. Known as 'Sackville Street' until 1924, Dublin Corporation renamed it in honour of Daniel O'Connell, a nationalist leader of the early nineteenth century whose statue stands at the lower end of the street, facing O'Connell Bridge.

It was a rainy day and the atmosphere was slightly sad. I used PP to highlight this dark, depressive atmosphere.
But please folks: don't be fooled by this photo. It isn't raining in Dublin every day! :)
This morning in Dublin is just wonderful! Sunny, bright and dry.
Unusual... :P

czesc Chris,

this is what my Polish teacher (he's actually our sales agent for Polska) call "pub weather".
So...atmosphere is sad and dark, everybody's hurring...I think it would have been wise to go to some pleasant pub to warm your soul with some guinesses...or just jameson!
(are Zubrowka or Podlaskie Miod sold in Dublin??)

Cześć Doctor, Oj deszczowo w tym Dublinie i pewnie zimno. A Ty zamiast w ciepełku w pubie coś sączyć lub w domu siedzieć przy kominku, na ulicy zdjecia robisz. Fajny efekt uzyskałeś - część szara, część kolorowa. Wierzę Ci na słowo, że bywa tam i słonecznie. Podobnie w Bergen, kilka dni w roku bez deszczu, a ja miałam bezchmurne niebo i upał. Pozdrawiam

Dobry wieczor Doktorze,
oj wyjatkowo paskudna brytyjska pogoda w tym Dublinie. Tym niemniej udalo sie znalezc kilka barwnych akcentow. Calosc robi swietne wrazenie, kadr bardzo mi sie podoba. Doktorze, co polecasz zeby w takich warunkach sie nie przeziebic?

Hello !

I prefer this picture than the new one (over Ha'Penny bridge). There is lot of thing to say about this picture especially PP which is very good (even if I prefer B&W).
Composition is wonderfull because there is still something to see everywhere in the picture.

To pewnie znowu pseudo HDR?
Podobaja mi sie wszystkie ktore u Ciebie widze.
Tu w szczegolnosci (znowu) swietnie wyeksponowales irlandzka atmosfere...
No po prostu tak jest naprawde. Tak widze Irlandie. Te kolorowe autobusy pomiedzy szaroscia tez sa fajne.
Szczerze mowiac nie wiem jak to zrobiles ale ten czarny kolor czarna tonacja jest po prostu bezbledna. Eksponuje brud, szarosc irlandzkiej architektury, eksponuje brzydka deszczowa pogode.

Gdybys napisal, ze to Lany Poniedzialek to nie mnialbym najmniejszych watpliwosci. Typowy dublinski obrazek. Fantastyczne kontrasty i ciekawa, wiernie oddajaca rzeczywistosc tonacja. Well done Krzychu!
