Hi Christian,
I think that you were really inspired by your Cuba trip as you have posted some wonderful images from there. The boy has such wonderful clarity and I like that he is just going about whatever and not really paying much attention to you. Once again you have found some lovely light too.

Hi Christian,
You've have taken some beautiful daily-life
images from Cuba. Here, this boy seems to be
so immersed in his own world. His expression
is so sweet. If it wasn't fot the note, I would
not have noticed the silhouette of the mother.
Although I think the blurred b/g was very appropriate.
The oldsmobile behind the kid really helps
this image depict life in Cuba.

Hi Christian,
What I like in this shot is the light of course, but also the very evocative attitude of the boy. Really reminiscent of childhood musings, when you've got nothing else to do and you start playing with what's around you, or daydreaming...The focus is spot on. My only pick is that bike that I find a little distracting like this, sticking out of the boy's back. But still, I like your shot.

Excellent composition. I like your choice of aperture.
The little boy is so sharp and except him, the whole photo is perfectly blurred. The light is sweet and perfeclty managed.
I like the presence of the old car in the background.

Tender and soft touch you have Chris.. You can climb the mountains in severe and cold winter mornings, fly over the tops, swim in the white cotton of clouds, you can sense the smell of the hot Cuban streets, everything with the same carefull maestry..
It's likely that somewhere, there is sth, you can't really do.. but you haven't shown it to us yet..

le tue foto di Cuba sono straordinarie! Qui hai ripreso una scena dolcissima con il bambino assorto nei suoi semplici giochi e la madre, appena accennata nello sfondo, che veglia e protegge. La luce e i colori sono splendidi e ottimo lo sfondo sfuocato e i dettagli che vi si intravedono.

Hi Chris,

you really know how to make most soft portraits. This one is so gentle and it feels just right. It feels that is boy is gentle, so young and still under influence of his mother. Playing with a grass... :) Only children know how to do that. Play with whatever surrounds them. Wonderful photo.

una bellissima scena che esalta la dolcezza del bambino,in un gesto normalissimo e la madre sembra controllare che tutto vada bene, una gestione della profondita' di campo eccellente come lo e' anche la luce e i colori, a completare l'opera uno dei simboli di Cuba, la vecchia macchina anni 50.
davvero bella e la metto tra le preferite.

Your shallow depth of field takes us straight into the boy's world. It's as though he is so concentrated that the blurred shape of his mother is relegated to the edge of his vision. The soft colours and light are wonderful.

für mich ein echtes Meisterwerk, der Fokus ist perfekt, gut gesehen und perfekt in Szene gesetzt. Super Qualität und klasse Licht. Das 70-200mm ist wirklich ein klasse Objektiv, ich hab zwar "nur" die f/4 version, aber liebe meins auch!

Beautiful series, something very personal and out of the beaten path.

This one is very eye-catching. The warm skin of the boy and contrasty yellow put him in evidence, plus this great limited depth of field that brings the professional look. Daily life scene behind is well chosen, in particular with this old car, clear enough to be distinctive.

Hi Christian,
The mother is hardly distinguishable, but it doesn't matter in my view. What we see is already plenty. Absolutely charming. There is delicacy here, the soft and warm tones, the beautiful light, the young boy with his gentle attitude and the hint of a smile, it looks all very relaxing and the background is interesting, showing a bit of the street, the car, the bike. Great sharpness on the boy. My compliments!
