Bophut is the beach/bay just to the east of Maenam. Its lifestyle is relaxed and more traditional than the larger communities, referring to itself as Fisherman's Village.

Hi Agnieszka,
the contrast between the traditional fishing boats and the modern yachts is the main feature of your composition from my point of view. It does not look like a paradise with all that trash on the beach! But the colours are stunning and the low tropical clouds are also fascinating. A very interesting capture of daily life in Bophut!

Hi Agnieszka.
What a terrific shot with gorgeous colours. There seems to be quite a bit of backlighting from the very bright sky, but your exposure shows lots of detail in the shaded areas of the boats' hulls. I like the little triangle of beach in the bottom left, even with the rubbish, but I think I would have cropped or cloned out the white motor launch on the right, as to me it seems a little out of place. But overall it's a very atmospheric shot. I can almost feel the Surat Thani (I have been there) tropical sun beating down.

The diagonal positions of the boats work very well in the composition, offering an interesting visual impact. I like the colors, too. Maybe the high-contrast situation in the sky could be controlled through post-processing. Regards,

Hello Agnieszka, Very pretty this sight on the small fishing vessels, that grouille of life, that gives d' as much more consistency than at first sight even if c' is the sea and the relief escarpé in bottom of image which attracts, it is nevertheless the richness of s' foreground; registering in a very beautiful nature which hold my attention, it is also a marvellous sight since Bophut, of one great depth, and an impression of freedom which in fact a very beautiful and harmonious composition, sincerely ................Bonjour Agnieszka,
Très jolie cette vue sur les petits bateaux de pêche, ça grouille de vie, ça donne d'autant plus de consistance qu’a première vue même si c'est la mer et le relief escarpé en fond d’image qui attire, c’est quand même la richesse du premier plan s'inscrivant dans une très belle nature qui retiens mon attention, c’est aussi une vue merveilleuse depuis Bophut, d’une grande profondeur, et d’une impression de liberté qui en fait une composition très belle et harmonieuse, bien amicalement

The boat on the right is very interesting,
it reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean;
they had one that looked exactly like this one.

Splendid sight of these charming fish boats, Agnieszka. Only after a while I can find the touritic signs hidden in the background ;-) I might consider to crop a bit at the right to get rid of that yacht...Nice colors of paradise with an atractive view of the mountains in the background.

I love this shot of the shore in Thailand, where the turquoise/green water is covered with colorful fishing boats. This is one country I have not visited, but would like very much to see. A slice of daily life in Fisherman's Village, thank you for letting us see it vicariously.

How do you say "hello" and "warm regards" in Polish. My book, 'Math and the Mona Lisa,' is now being translated into Polish Edition by PROSZYNSKI in Warsaw. I would love to learn a little Polish.

first of all, I have to complement you on the technicalities here, the exposure is spot on, I like a lot the backlit clouds.
the composition also works very well, the placement of boats create strong diagonals that add depth to the scene, I like that very much. the corner of the sand on the left is a nice accent, and I'm not even talking about the beautiful blue water. great shot, my compliments.
