Photographer’s Note

This cross in Camiguin island marks what used to be a Catholic cemetery. It was submerged during an eruption of a small volcano in the 19th century. The grave markers can still be seen a few feet below the surface. This was a chance shot when we happened to pass by along the national road. The funny thing was, right nearby, there was a Jeepney parked with the words "SUNKEN SUNSET" emblazoned in large fonts: the title is an adaptation. I took a picture of the jeepney as well :)
