Photographer’s Note

It is Balloon Fiesta time in Albuquerque--the balloon capital of the world. 600 plus balloons from all over the world, and pilots here from 23 countries. It is so exciting to go to the fields and see them take off in waves. The colour, the big cheers as the balloons launch, the sounds of the gas burning, the competitions, and the big buzz of all these balloons.

Balloons cost anywhere from $30,000 to $100,000. The special shape balloons, such as Arky which I posted yesterday, are in another category.

Oh, Joni,
it's WONDERFUL! I love the side lighting and those brilliant colors. I might have cloned out the top right balloons on the edges and the bottom left one, also. The balance would have been better, I think. Still an extraordinary shot!! Many thanks and warm regards,

Très belle scène où éclatent les couleurs de ces splendides montgolfières disséminées dans le ciel comme des bulles de savon. Peut-être aurais-tu pu diminuer un peu la luminosité?

what a wonderful composition! :-) the colorful balloons look terrific in the clear blue sky,
i just would have cloned out the cut balloons on the edges. well done & best wishes, thor.

It'a very colorfull view in which the massive concentration has been very well captured. It's a lot of colors of a lot of baloons. I like.
