Photographer’s Note

Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley is located in Cantons de l'Est, in the valley of Magog river, in the edge of the Hatley-Ascot plateau, occupying a woodland on a hill.

Its permanent population reaches two thousand hundred Catherinoises and Catherinois. However, hundreds of seasonal residents come each year to spend a few months there.

The church on the picture has Saint Catherine of Siena as its patroness, from which the village draws its name (also called "Katevale"). The church was built in 1908 (info dans l'inventaire des lieux de culte du Québec).
