An abandoned house by the old city wall of Kotor, Montenegro. Kotor traces its history back to Byzantine times and the old part of the city is listed by the UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Hej Gert,
when I saw the thumbnail of the photo it seemed to me that it lookd like a drawing. The "full" version looks like a painting. I have such an impression due to the colours, maybe... In a way it reminds me of a painting by an Impressionist painter. Can't remember the painter's name now.
I like the composition, with the high thin trees in the foreground among the soft-looking dark-yellow grass. A curious combination of colours of the bottom and of the other part of the picture. Grey and blue rocks look like a river flow. It's good that the photo is not oversharpened: thus it looks more like a painting.

You've obtained an attractive vertical compo, Gert, rightly skyless; my eyes go to that nice row of very thin long trees; tha abandoned house gives an indication of scale, and also a sense of human interaction with this landscape... regards, Daniel

Splendid location for this little house ; these typical pine trees (cypresus ?) look so beautiful in this peaceful valley.
Dramatic cliff, wondering if there are sometimes earthquakes in that area ?

Hi Gert,

Interesting rock formation. The trees add an interesting touch to the already unique composition. The image is quite sharp despite the low light.

Hej Gert,
a decade ago I saw one of the most beautiful films I ever seen " Before the Rain" filmed in Macedonia but remains a lot of this landscape. it's a Romeo and juliette story with the war and different ethnic groups as a backdrop.

Gert, this is a nice one, the trees really accentuate the vertical orientation of the shot. The wall works well to pull the eye all the way to the top of the frame. Great capture.

Hej Gert,
Hard to see from the thumbprint what this actually was. The rock really looks out of proportion compared with the small house.
