Photographer’s Note

A touristy shot, I know, in a very photographed part of my area, but I thought the sky was interesting as the sun was poking through after a very grey day. Peggy's Cove is known for its famous lighthouse and its picturesque fishing town houses and small buildings. It is a beautiful place.

In spite of the grey sky you got a good light for this picture. I like the soft mixed colours. The bottom of the picture (the road) would be cut.

Good pov to show structure of a fishing town, nice to see colourful bangolo houses built on the broad land, nice color and lighting recording the weather, good shoot.

Hi Sarah,
I see nothing wrong in a shot being "touristy". If we are modest enough, most of our more atractive shots are just that. This is a lovely view, very well composed from a well chosen POV, with a wonderful smooth light. Like you point, it's interesting that the FG is bathed by the sun while the weather looks really grey.

Looking at this at for me gives an almost Nordic feeling with the style of the houses, the boats and the overall environment. Good capture of the village sarah and interesting details of the place.

A very nice shot from your town. There's a lot of wooden architecture around as I can see. The red roof of the spire draws instant attention & is a good focal point in this image. The dark sky also accentuates the red here. Well done!
