Photographer’s Note
In a gypsie camp, not long after sunset, the men were ‘busy’ having a good time together, jumping and laughing, trying to break a trunk of wood but it was not so deeply cut so their solution did not work. They were on holiday, normally working in big cities and a bit idle but not the women, more serious, preparing dinner for the large families like each night. Other photos will follow.
Nice to see how they (and everyone in Turkey, by the way) accept children in all their activities, there does not seem to be such division among generations like in the west, children are always present and sometimes know no limits – there, they were very affectionate but often prevented us from taking some photos, calling for our attention all the time.
(There was not much light left but I stuck to 100iso for fear of noise. The colours don't add interesting elements IMO).

Hello Catherine,
Good and timeless fun. The colour version does not have the same impact. Have you noticed how the group portrait seems to be built up with pairs? The pair of little boys in the middle, with one being blurred, is my favourite. Portraits in a portrait!

What's missing in this fotka ?
The Catharina The Great is missing in there
That warmth of the human communication is missing...
That very special tête à tête between the only you, Catharina The Great and the only her or him or them - is missing...
Typical family fotka...
Unfortunate moment chosen... Not even one (out of eleven) heads or faces in there managed to made your photo the one and only...
It happens even to the masters like you, dear...
:-))
The black backround...?
Somehow - it doesn't correspond well with the joyful scene you've registered...(IMHO)
No frame, no backround - I'd suggest...
Million hugs

Hi Catherine,
Very nice photo of the Roma people in their fun. They seem have a good fun. They used this log as a kind of a see-saw. how did you feel among them, safe? I saw a gypsoe camp in slovakia and it was not a pleasant experience.
Regards
Malgorzata

Hello Catherine
The one motion blurred boy breaks the pattern in this unconventional group portrait. Good sharpness and tonal range. Tfs!

indeed the colours are a little dull... the light was not "on your side" in that day...
but you managed to take a good photo where a natural joy is spreading across men of all age...
