Photographer’s Note

Well, after spending a beautiful vacation in Europe I'm back home with wonderful memories and most of all with the great honor of meeting magnificent friends of TE in Barcelona, Josep Marin (josepmarin) and his lovely wife Pili, Oscar (barrufeto_77) and Sergio (sergio1).
I dedicate this picture to them and hope that one day they will come to Santo Domingo and visit us, really me and my wife will be very glad to receive you my good friends.
You can see two WS with Pili and Josep, sorry Oscar your picture was out of focus.

This picture was taken at the Plaza Catalunya, one of the most visited plaza in Barcelona, beautiful place surrounded with multiple stores and peatonal streets, it was my last picture taken in Barcelona and with the last sunlights of the evening.

Très sympathique rencontre entre amis de TE ! Excellent moyen de faire connaissance et de partager ses passions.
En même temps, tu as profité des lieux pour nous présenter une très belle prise de vue de la place aux deux fontaines en eau. Très belles couleurs avec une lumière parfaitement maîtrisée.

Hello Emile,

Welcome back home! I very much look forward to seeing your your images from your cruise. My cruise on the Serenity ended on August 24, and I have been posting infrequently but with good memories also. In Barcelona, I got to meet José Pires (stego), whom you of course met when he came to Santo Domingo. This time he came from Lisbon to Barcelona with his family. And I remember well, changing buses red to blue lines at Plaza Catalunya.

Tenemos aquí un contraluz casi frontal, muy bien controlado. Me gusta el halo de luz que hace el contorno de las personas y también la luz recogida y emitida por el agua de las fuentes y transmitida maravillosamente en esta imagen. ¡Bravo!

Nice that you had such an enjoyable tour in Europe! And that you met such friendly TE fellows.
Barcelona is a beautiful town, I must go back there again. You show here its atmosphera: funtains, sun, people enjoyng sun, in a rich composition.

Hola Emile,
I see you are back, man you had a very long trip i think ;-)
9 years a go i was sitting there, funny to see how little has chance, people are still sitting there and enjoying the last sunlight of the day, just as i did back then.
Not an easy picture on the exposure, but your light control is pretty good with all that backlight. Still very good detail in front over the long shadows...you did well here....good work.

Me gusta mucho este contraluz en la plaza y la composición entre luces y sombras.

Bonito contraluz, con buena profundidad con las dos fuentes, me gusta la luz entre los arboles y una imagen de una vida cotidiana muy bien tomada, buen trabajo!

excellent counter light view.
The fountains in full light and the dark trees form a greatb contrast.
The yellow and green tones of the late sun are very pleasant.

Hola querido amigo Emile,
como puedes suponer, Pili ha sido la primera en ver estas fotos.
Me encanta ver esta foto, es la primera después de tu viaje y de nuestro encuentro, y muestra un lugar emblemático y especial en mi ciudad.
No había una luz fácil, el contraluz era intenso y directo, pero has sabido jugar con él y aprovechar el gran efecto estético de sus sombras. Parece que estoy sentado ahora mismo ahí.
Me gustan los WS, son un gran recuerdo de los bellos momentos que pudimos compartir juntos, y estamos encantados con vuestra amistad, en un sentimiento mutuo y muy agradable.

Hola Emile,
Ya me había dicho Josep que te encontró en Barcelona.
Lo que puede pasar como tan solo una foto de recuerdo banal, se revela al final una imagen muy bien cogida, por la luz (contraluz) maravillosa del final del día y el compo, con el paseo y y los árboles conduciendo la mirada hacia a la fuente. Las personas arreglan la atmósfera de tranquilidad. Dudo mucho que yo consiguiera manejar tan bien la luz como lo hiciste aquí.
Bülent ya lo ha dicho: hay estuve con ele y su esposa.

El placer fue mio por supuesto. Me encanta conocer a gente y, si son TE-amigos, pues aún mejor claro que si. Y Sergio me comentó que le hizo muchísima ilusión puesto que, todo y no estar casi "activo", fuiste su primer TE-amigo. Con lo cual estaba encantado.

La única cosa mala...es que no salgo en el WS hahahahahahahahahaa.

Hola Emile, great capture of light and shadow in a splendid perspective. It seems like spectateurs watching a show of water. Very good use of trees to filter the light. Love the long shadows at right. Thanks for the lovely WSs, the best of TE meetings for who was not there ;-)

Fine afternoon setting in this setting of Barcelona Emile. A long travel for you and as always I'm sure interesting meeting TE friends a long th road. In fact only 2 hrs from my place in South of France..
Good light here and fine effect from the faountains in the back combined with use of the long shadows.

welcome back home and to TE. I hope you had a good trip in this new segment of your life. No rush to go back to the office ... pure dedication to photography!?
You certainly didn't have the easy light conditions to make this shot. Amazing to see how well you managed the light to the point that you have most of details in the shadows. It didn't end up as silhouette and at the same time you didn't overexpose the waterfountains. Very good!

Retorno a tu galería y por lo visto, tuviste unas vacaciones muy merecidas por Europa, y en cuyo trayectoria te fue muy bien. Me da envidia de la sana, que pudiste compartir con gente conocida de aqui de nuestro portal.

La foto, sin duda no es fácil. La luz es dificil, pero lo has manejado bien. El ambiente se aprecia muy agradable, y la gente le da indudablemente muchos toques de calidez.

I like the backlight effect on the fountains, very moody!
Great evening atmosphere, the late summer with the long shadows is nicely recorded...
