Photographer’s Note
On top of "Serra da Estrela", highest mountain in Continental Portugal, I saw the most wonderful sunset. The sun went down behind a clouds carpet, giving me from red to orange and yellow colors, but after that, as the light was going away, and the warmth too, another show was being set by the clouds and the blue tones. Fortunately I was "over" the clouds and could take some photos...it looks impossible, but I was the only one seeing the show there, all tourists where gone by that time...they don't know what they missed.

hello Joao,
I am amazed this shot has not received more attention.
Talk about the 'blue hour' which you have captured so well here.
I love the layes of mountaims and cloude.
Well done, composed and presented.
A treat!

Hi Joao,
Long time no see, hope you're alright. Seems it is because what you whow here is pure magic blue in all his beauty. I would love to make such a shot from above the clouds, for me almost impossible living in this flat country, so it makes me a bit jealous when seeing this.
Those clouds go on forever, wonderful clarity and brightness. Of course waiting pays off, we both know that. When the crowd is gone the real colours start to show up.
Great shot, but also the crop and framing is wonderful done...perfect..!!!
Have a ncie day, Henk

I love this one. of course the previous ones are very good but you know what moods I prefere. great moment and composition. so simle but so effective. usualy people don't include close foreground but you do and this makes it even better I think.
I think yesterday I saw Serra Estrela area from the plane. now after your photo I'm almost sure :) I should post some photos from Portugal in the next few days. beautiful country and very very nice people
best wishes

Joao,
this is absolutely great stuff. I wish this shot would be in my gallery and not in yours! the mood in blue is fantastic and the clouds wraping the whole scene is simply gorgeous, but what makes it outstanding are the little windmills scattered around and arising from the fog. THAT is stupend!

Ola Joao
A superb shot of the mountains from a good high vantage point, with marvellous repetition of the misty cloud & good graphism, aerial perspective, & sharpness. Tfs!
