Photographer’s Note
The Monumental Fountain located in Santo Antão do Tojal was destinated to receive the water from Pintéus and was transported by the Aqueduct and is an integral part of the Palace of the Archbishops also known as The Mitra's Palace.
The event which runs at the site consists of a recreation of s fair of the XVIII century accompanied by a procession with the presence of King John V on a Royal Coach, the Patriarch of Lisbon D. Tomas de Almeida and the people. When the procession arrives at the Monumental Fountain Square, it takes place the blessing of the bells for the Convent of Mafra.
There's three WS with diferent views. Hope you like it.
Update history like Filipe requested:
I arrived at the village and made a few shots on the square; after a while I had the luck to discover that the entrance to the tower of the church (photo one of these days) was open and I climbed the stairs all the way up. When I arrived at the top there were three persons there, one of them, a camera man of Loures TV with his arsenal mounted under one of the bells. They were talking, nothing was happening, so I aproach the balcony and stood right below the big bell to see the view; without further notice the man I show in the WS starts ringing the bell and so did the third person present with the other bell. I must have made the quickest jump of my life; for 20 long minutes (the duration of the procession) they hit the bells over and over and I was standing 1 metre from each one; it was one the worst experiences of my life, I can assure you; after twenty minutes I decided that I couldn't take it anymore (my ears were ready to explode) and I decided to go down; after four or five steps, they finally stoped and I went bak to do what I was supposed to: Present all of you with this nice image (in my humble opinion) that I hope you enjoy. So remember: When you go to a church tower, always ask first if those guys are ready to rock; You never know...

Paulo,
You have captured a great scene here with a lot of life and action. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail. The off center placement of the fountain and building gives the shot a nice sense of direction.

Paulo, this is another interesting one. Looks like something out of Star Trek where moderns and ancients interact. Colors are good and your sharpness is great, not too over driven as is sometimes the case here on TE. Great capture.

Olá Paulo,
Well selected high POV adds all scene in a single frame perfectly. I like your way adding all courtyard while its busy with visitors and authentic setup of events. Very good clarity and sharpness. Well organized complementary shoots and informative note.

Hello Paulo, that's an amazing one. One of the most beautiful photos that I have seen most recently. It looks like coloured version of an ancient photo, which was taken a century ago. Congratulations, Tolga

Hello Paulo,
A kind of reportage you are proposing here. The high point of view allowed to show the entire place and the saturation of the colors fits well to evidence the texture of the houses.
Even with all the crowd, the photo is still well readable what is not always easy to have.
Yves.

Único post deste lugar no TE, certamente.
