Photographer’s Note

Mandrakia

Mandrakia,are a fish village with a small beach of almost 150 meters with dark grey pebble and visitors are impressed with its traditional color. Here you see the "sirmata" that are small lodges,in front of the little harbor,in which the boats are drawn from the sea and placed in during the Winter. A lot of fishermen, the summer period change "sirmata" in rural residences.

Μανδράκια

Τα Μανδράκια,είναι ένα ψαροχώρι με μια μικρή παραλία σχεδόν 150 μέτρων με σκούρο γκρι βότσαλο και εντυπωσιάζει τον επισκέπτη με το παραδοσιακό του χρώμα. Εδώ βλέπετε τα «σύρματα» δηλαδή τα μικρά σπιτάκια, μπροστά στο λιμανάκι, μέσα στα οποία φυλάσσονται οι βάρκες το χειμώνα. Πολλοί ψαράδες, την καλοκαιρινή περίοδο μετατρέπουν τα «σύρματα» σε εξοχική κατοικία.

Hi Danos

A superb high pov, with marvellous sharpness & colour. The blue & cyan colours of the sea contrast well against the earthy colours of the rockwall. Perhaps a slight, ccw rotation? Good sharpness & colour. Tfs!

I like the high POV - it allows us to see the shape of the tiny harbour, and the clarity of the water, very well. All the different shades of blue are beautifully captured, without any over exposure, even in this bright light.

the composition is very nice Danos.

Hi Danos,
A magnificent, very calm place and with a great beauty. The photo offers us a sight on this fishermen's small port, with a wonderful light and a few beautiful colors, with an interesting contrast between the blue tones and the white tones.
Excellent photo, though I think that probably you could have corrected the distortion provoked by the wide angle lens. But it does not spoil your good work.

Your excellent POV is very effective showing the curve of the FG and the clarity of the water. Also choosing a time of day when the light is at a low angle really makes the colors and detail pop out.

Bonjour Danos,
le bleu est à l'honneur et sous un soleil puissant. Les lumières dures ont peu d'influence négatives sur cette teinte.
un horizon un peu courbe.
Une photo nette et profonde.

Hi Danos,

The point of view takes our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The presence of the small boats has aneffect of scale. The light is enhancing the colors and is giving a good contrast to them. The picture is clear and sharp. Have a nice day.

I do not mind about the curve in the horizon. The brown rocks in the blue water all this with the white spots from the boats and houses, that is very nice nice and attracting. The transparency of the water is superb.

Lovely picture of these small harbour with all that small boats.
It just seems that the harbour has no entrance and that you have to pull the boat over the rochs when you want to sail out.

Blues on doors, on church creates, well known splendid and enviable Aegean contrasts while you are adding amazing sight. A good high POV showing well the little creek, a well protected harbor, with nice water transparency, fine colors and sharpness. The horizon is quite curved, it can be adjusted with the 'spherize' tool in PS i think..

It exists one winter in Greece !!! I thought that there was sun all the year… When we see this marvellous photograph, I doubt it. Sympathetic these boxes with boats to preserve them rigour of the winter. The natural colors are superb and in particular all these tone blue. A splendid place for the holidays or the relaxation.
