Photographer’s Note

She is actually a great-grandmother and her grandson next to her is already an uncle... I met them last year in Gülheyran village near Kars (border with Armenia), where everyone is part of the same extended family...

A sweet lady and very popular, she had a good sense of humour and sometimes I was wondering if she understood her jokes but she was smiling so sweetly when we were laughing.

Her clothes are typical for Kurdish ladies of that age and I find her particularly elegant !
It's not that I'm trying to do an apology of the headscarves here (rather a collection of photos of people whom I met) but if I had to wear one for some reason, never mind the current fashion : I would go for this style, my prefered one !
