Photographer’s Note

A short break in my "Crete" series.

Identical frame and composition as my "Temple of Olympian Zeus" photo, but different hour, different light condition and different light managment.

In the foreground the Temple of Olympian Zeus, one of the largest temples of the ancient world, and in the background the Acropolis and the Parthenon.

The evening sky's color tone has a tremendous effect on this POV of the Temple and this is a really different style for this icon structure. Impressive shot.

columnas. El punto de vista nos ayuda a
apreciar la maginitud y grandeza de estos
templos de mucho significado no solo para Grecia, sino para el mundo.
Los tonos del atardecer le dan ese toque

I can't believe I got to Athens twice last year and missed seeing this temple, until now. I wish I'd known you when I was there looking for locations to shoot a TV series in Greece about food and wine.
Beautiful silhouette of the ruins against the evening sky.

Hello Dear Hercules,

This is one of my favorite perspectives of Athens — the Temple of Olympian Zeus, set against the wondrous acropolis crowned by the most beautiful building ever built. You've captured it against the glow of the sun. I could not have critiqued the photograph of the same scene with different light conditions, and not come back to critique this one. Bravo for the pair!

Hercules,
quite the different POV for the typical scene of the ancient temples and Acropolis in the background. The detail of the colors in the sky makes it a real attraction. Nice to have the little detail of some of the columns in the foreground been illuminated by some spotlights and providing view of the texture versus the others non illuminated just as silhouette.
