The studios were founded in 1937 by Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini for propaganda purposes, under the slogan "Il cinema è l'arma più forte" (Cinema is the most powerful weapon). The studios were bombed by the Western Allies during World War II. In the 1950s, Cinecittà was the filming location for several large American film productions like Ben-Hur, and then became the studio most closely associated with Federico Fellini.

After a period of near-bankruptcy in the 1980s, Cinecittà was privatized by the Italian government. It hosted the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, after the venue was changed from Sanremo beause of security concerns.

On August 9, 2007, a fire destroyed about 3000 m² (32,000 sq. ft.) of the Cinecittà lot and surroundings. The historic part that houses the sets of classics such as Ben-Hur were not damaged.

porca miseria ci volevamo venire anche noi ma alla fine e' uscito il solito contrattempo.
bella, chissa' quante pellicole famose sono passate attraverso queste testine.

If I understand, this is a kind of a close-up made to one old editing desk for 35mm film. Is this correct? You managed a very good DOF, with excellent sharpness and contrast. The night view in the WS is beautiful and the presents a good oldish mood of the building contrasting well with the man on the phone in the foreground. Well done.

hejsan Vinicio,
I started work with Television in the beginning of the 90's and it's amazing how things looked similar then, to this old editing table and how incredible everything have change in those next 15-20 years.
good history and a good note, and a very nice close up.

aggeggi che hanno visto chissà quante pellicole.
Ottima la scelta del bianco e nero.
Risalta meglio il particolare metallico di tali strumenti.

Ciao Vinicio mi verrebbe voglia di trasgredire il tuo avvertimento ma rispetto il tui desiderio.
Questo still-life del vecchio tavolo di editing è veramente splendido.
Abbassandoti nella ripresa ci hai dato un punto di vista non banale, come sarebbe stato se ripreso dall'alto.
Invece ci hai catapultato dentro la scena di questo tavolo tra testine e alberini suscitando emozioni.
Missione compiuta!!!
Davvero da encomiare e da citare ad esempio per la grande gamma dei grigi e nitidezza.
Applausi!!!

molto interessanti la nota e i dettagli di questa antica strumentazione e intrigante immaginarne il funzionamento e le immagini che vi sono passate attraverso. Ottima la scelta dell'inquadratura e splendido il B/N.

Ciao Vinicio.
Una foto che sa di tempi andati, di quando il bianco e nero era usato non come lo è tuttora, alla ricerca di grafismi d'effetto (ottimi anche quelli beninteso) ma per godersi meglio, senza la "distrazione" dei colori, i passaggi tonali anche di oggetti inanimati e metallici come questi splendidi ruotismi che sembrano degli scacchi in formazione che iniziano ad avanzare sulla scacchiera.
