Photographer’s Note
let me tell you, if THIS is the light and scenery you get on your way to the airport when going back home, the urge to swallow the plain tickets and pretend that you still have few weeks of vacations is very, VERY strong.
the photo was taken around 7PM on the road between the Yellostone National Park and Cody; I'm not surprised that this road is often called the most scenic in America. Kristaps has this tigther view of the same place.

Hello Kristine,
I once remember giving one of my shots from The Lake District a similar title. There is something about this early evening light which defies our ability to describe it! It makes us gasp with pleasure and wish we could freeze it and take it home for future enjoyment. I know just how you felt when you saw this!
Thank goodness we have cameras that do it some justice!
Let me just say, it is quite breathtaking!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Kristine,
fantastic wild landscape with beautiful clouds and perfect sharpness. One can almost feel the fresh air and the sun rays in one's back which add the golden tones in the shot.
Great work

Hi Kristine,
I was on this same road back in '91 and my mouth was open all the way to Cody.
The high desert scenery is not of this world with colors and hues you seldom see.
What a beautiful sky you have here as the dramatic cloud bank wonderfully sits behind the lovely bluffs. The Shoeshone River lays a beautifully ribbon across the valley as it winds across this lovely landscape.
Great colors and sharpness to this lovely western image.
Regards, Tom

Hi Kristine,
I'm thinking you and Kristaps were travelling together. I like your wider shot, gives more of a sense of the landscape, which is fantastic. Including the small river in the foreground gives so much depth to the image. The colours....well just wonderful.
Hope this doesn't start any nah, nah, na, nah, na, between you two.
Superb capture, beautiful job.

A shot, with which even Ansel Adams would be proud of. Fantastic imminent clouds, providing excellent disperse light for photography. With commpon conditions I made this shot, but now I would have increased some levels in it...

Kristine,
I enjoy Kristaps version, and I like this version because it give more of a overall scene of the area. I understand your urge, especially if the it was not nice while you were and and it turn nice when you leave. You just want to unpack again and stay for just a day would be okay. This is absolute beautiful color and the sky is clearing up, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone..." Well there an excuse to go back in the future. I plan to be here hopefully next year. TFS

Hi Kristine,
I love this view where the sky is the star and the sweep of golden hillside, the curve of the blue river and the red dot that must be a fly fisherman grounds it perfectly. It's a stunner!!

Hello Kristine
And you tell me "you seem to also have that - many of your photos have that special light and ambience that we all look for"!!! Well well! ;-)
Delightful play of light & colours here on the grass..but what an amazing landscape anyway! As against Kristap's picture, we have the stream here & a couple of anglers, adding depth to the picture. And the clouds...they play a great role enhancing the beauty as well. Superb landscape picture Kristine...how I long to see a beauty of a landscape like this & capture it with my camera

Hi Kristine
Wapiti sounds like a Maori town here in NZ and this looks like a NZ scene as well, with the defining clouds and beautiful colours from the lighting. Looking through your images I can safely say your a talented landscape photographer and enjoy the images you put here on TE.
Is that a person in the water? If it is then that is well seen on your part. Excellent work.

Hello Kristine,
thanks for liking the pergola shot I'd sent. thanks also for your effrot to improv it looks.
This shot of yours is really fanstastic. The Yellowstone justifies it. the great colour saturation and lovely dramatic clouds put this shot into a very fascinating and excellent landscape. The perspective, the colours, the shadow to give dimensins, fine details are really brilliant.
Wonderfully composed.

Hello Kristine,
What an impressive view, and handled masterfully. The fluffy clouds serve as a crown on the distant peaks, the polarizing filter having been an effective choice. There is an microscopic entity near the shore, is that a human being? Your note is engaging as always. So, you don't know how the plane ticket tastes!
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Kristine,
can you imagine? That I somehow did miss to comment this one?!?
I had to be sick...very sick...up there above my neck....
Well...at least I can do it now while you are still constructing your intro :P
Did I tell you that you are my role model regarding landscape photography? I didn't? Well...probably I had a good reason...probably i didn't want to see your ego blow up and make a mess on you laptop...
Anyway, since your invisible new posts are quite boring I decided to waste my lack of talent to write sth meaningful on this photo.
It is fantastic! I think that should do it.
My best,

Hi Kristine:
I've missed a number of your shots recently, and they're fantastic. So I'll start with this one. You can't get better light than this, in my opinion. I love this part of Wyoming. The left of the picture is a bit dark, but I wouldn't change that, as it only highlights how dramatic the light is. Those clouds are the finishing touch on a great shot. Well done.
