Photographer’s Note
For the past few years I have been wanting to capture some photos from Lake Louise Alberta. And because I had no option to stop at this lake for a couple days for the photos I really wanted to take, I was left with challenging lighting for my time at this lake.. The sunlight was shining right above the mountains which hindered some options I was looking for.
So what you see here is my best attempt to shoot with back lighting sunlight. By trying to avoid sunlight from entering the camera lens I attempted to cover direct sunlight with tree branches, but still had a small measure of glare spots to correct.
So enough with my excuses here is my standard tourist posting photo of Canoeing at Lake Louise. Thanks to the new 300KB limit I think the results show for themselves with 50% more kilobytes for posting. Enjoy!

Paul
Une très jolie composition avec une très belle utilisation de la lumière créant toutes ces petites étoiles à la surface de l'eau.

Hi Paul - so you finally made it to Lake Louise. This is not the usual shot of this place as you are looking right toward the sun, but the result is quite interesting. The sunlight reflecting off the water gives this a sparkle, and the sky is very saturated. Great positioning of the different elements too. I like it!

Hello Paul,
A very good composition and beautiful colours. The reflection of the sun in the lake is very good: wonderful little stars.
The canoes add some extra colour.
Best regards from Belgium, Paul

The way you managed the sun light is really ok : producing dark and strong contrast and the feeeling of heat... The dazzling lake is lovely... A great summer and holidays mood.
