Lozan Monument

Lozan Monument, Square and Museum were built on the Karaagaç Campüs in accordance with the proposal of the Rector Osman Inci, to commemorate the Lozan Treaty which set boundaries of the Turkish Republic. In accordance with the Mondoros Treaty signed on 30th October, 1918 the border of Trakya was Meriç River; Karaagaç district and the right banks side of Meriç River remained in the Greek area.
That situation was discussed in details at the meetings held for the Lozan Treaty and the mentioned areas were given to the Turkish Republic with Lozan Treaty which was signed on 24th July, 1923. Hence, the University Senate decided during the 7th annual meeting on 27th November, 1996, to construct the monument on the Karaagaç Campus to commemorate this historical event. The Lozan Monument, which is one of the biggest monuments in Turkey was first inaugurated by the President of the Turkish Republic Süleyman Demirel on 19th July, 1998.

Bu anıt, maalesef Edirne'nin çok unutulmuş bir köşesinde. Sen iyi bulmuşsun. Ve de çok alışılmamış bir bakış açısı ile yakalamışsın.

Merhaba Burak,
Rektörlüğün kareleri var ama bunu hatırlamıyorum desem ayıp olurmu,otobüsten inince herkes rehberi takip ederken ben doğru tren istasyonu yönüne gittim rektörlük binasını çekerken sağda güzel ahşap yeşil bir bina onunda sağında bir anıt vardı önünde resim çektirdiler o muydu acaba Lozan anıtı,ama sen rektörlüğün içinde diyorsun her neyse bu güzelim çağdaş mimari eseri kaçırdım demekki.Bir dahaki gidişimde görürüm artık.
Bakış açın ve çekim süper,bayrağımızın görkemli varlığı ile çok etkileyici enfes kompozisyon olmuş.Tebrikler ederim.Selamlar

bu anıtı görmüştüm de hiç bu açıdan görmemiştim... bayrakla birlikte etkileyici bir kompozisyon olmuş... tepedeki yarısı görünen daire ile hilalin paralel formları hoş bir birliktelik oluşturmuş... ne güzel...:)...

TE nin en guzel taraflarindan birisi unutulmamasi, goz arda edilmemesi, yeteri kadar onemsenmesi gereken anitlari, eserleri, guzellikleri paylasacak bir ortam sunmasi. Paylasiminiz icin tesekkurler.
Diger fotografta butunu gorurken, bakis acinizin muthis bir grafiksel guzellik sundugunu soylemek isterim. Bulundugunuz nokta insanin damarlarini etkiliyor.

Hello Burak,

Very dynamic and very attractive angle you discovered. Interesting new approach with the flag. Should be on a magazine cover on holidays. Perhaps you could have taken 5 pictures and merge them ( With a tripod of course ) because the left upper side seems a bit too light )

Hola Burak,
I don't know what comes from the inspiration of the architect and what comes from your own, but the fact is that it is an amazing image. I like how the symmetry is broken by the photogenic Turkish flag, which makes a wonderful contrast with the sun and combines nicely with graphics of the monument: the cropped concrete circle forms another crescent aligned with the one on the flag.

Only when we see the Workshop we understand the beauty of this shot. Fantastic picturisation I must say from your low (lying down?) POV, with superb merging perspective of the towers & fine colour contrast of the red of your country's flag with the blue sky. Fine work!

Nice graphism from the pov and symmetrical framing. The clouds on the left are a little overexposed unfortunately, but the bright red of the flag compensates. Nice work.
