Photographer’s Note

i know some will find the back colors disturbing... but not for me, so i am posting it;-) a veggie vendor on the Leh main market street... wearing a woolen cap in the summer... they wear the same clothes in the summer as in the winter... someone told me it helps regulate body temperature... i doubt it though...;-) any idea?

Great shot, Eric. The background adds to the shot by giving some idea of the environment the woman lives in.

No, no, it's not disturbing at all, at the contrary.. It's true that the bigger version is a lot better than the thumbnail..

Non je ne connais pas la réponse à ta question, mais j'aime à nouveau bien ton image, avec cet air de lassitude qui transparaît du visage de cette femme.
L'environnement coloré me plaît bien.
Par contre, c'est peut-être un peu centré quand même, j'aurais bien cadré plus serré en bas, pour accentuer justement le côté coloré de ce portrait.

L'arrière plan n'est pas dérrangeant, le visage capte notre attention, moi je trouve qu'il dégage beaucoup de douceur, un très beau portrait, beau travail Eric.

Beau portrait Eric, avec un regard tres expressif. J'aime bien les differentes couleurs, plutot contrastees.
Moi aussi, je pense que j'aurai cadre plus bas mais sinon, l'arriere-plan ne me gene pas.

Noooo, please keep to show backgrounds ! You are a portrait master and only missing point was the background (IMHO :-) I think with a good DOF, background is everything in portraits.

At first I thought the picture should have been cropped tighter on top. Looking at it closely, I agree with your compo. The colors deserve their place in the picture. It provides a context. Very good picture Eric.

Pas moi Eric, le fond me va très bien.
Tu nous a fait encore un très beau portrait made by Eric Leparc 2004 :o))
J'aime beaucoup l'attitude de la femme, sereine sans être avachie. une photo qui a du caractère en somme, comme les couleurs franches.

Beautiful portrait Eric. Nice colrs and details. A lovey subject. and infact i like the colorful bg. maybe a little extra space above the head that can be cropped out.

A great portrait shot, Eric. I like the expression on the woman's face - she looks as if she has seen something and is confused by it. Your DOF is excellent, and so I like the addition of the colourful patterns in the background. They do not distract me from studying the woman first. Well seen.
