Photographer’s Note
This is again my birth town, Portalegre. While my earlier posts were shot on the East side of the city walls, now I present you the West side.
I confess I had never been in this place before the day I shot this one. Like much of other areas of the town, this area was subject to some considerable upgrade works, which look good to me overall. Before those works, the outside of the walls at this area was just an unpaved empty field with some bad looking half ruined houses and if there was way to get through the walls, it was anything but obvious.
I am not so satisfied with the PP, I think the light lacks "punch" (contrast?), but couldn't do better without either burning out those white walls bathed by the sun or turning the shadows almost black. Maybe I should check if I was dumber than usual the day I did the PP and make another try, but I am too lazy to do it.
WS: A view towards the other side, turning 180 degrees, showing one two landmarks of the town which are clearly seen in any profile view: the cathedral and the Palácio Amarelo (Yellow Palace).

Attractive scenery,Strong perspective line had performed the depth to this scene and good position of wall line in this frame,Well contrast of line and form of building to create the natural frame to emphasize the vanishing on the left side, good sharpness and well light too.Good work,TFS.

Olá José,
I like the play of lines in this one, partly shadow lines, partly real. The start of the wall in the corner tears the eye to the end, good idea of this one in vertical. The workshop would be worth also to be an own posting.

F
