Photographer’s Note

Cigars are certainly a common sight throughout Cuba but this one in Havana was by far the biggest I saw!

Thanks to Viviane (Porteplume)for a great workshop. She has cloned the wall and set the subject to the left of the frame.

A very striking and minimalist portrait of this great character with his giant cigar. You have captured something essential about Cuba in this one. I like his clothes and his stance and expression, and you placed him superbly in the composition, thanks to Viviane! Great cloning job, Viviane!

Michele- what more can I say than this, 'ur shot personifies 'Cuba'!' Striking yellow BG and nice placement of the man. The pp has worked wonders for the aesthetics of the image.

Hi Michele,

in France, for this kind of cigar, we've got an expression "barreau de chaise" which means bar of chair...this one is splendid specimen !
the warm colours are very nice, i like the way you frame your pic with this empty yellow space on the right of the man,
