[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm not really sure about this shot of a derelict railway signal box, I loved the light of the setting sun on the stucco but as it was in a goods yard there wasn't much else around. liked the softness of the grass & trees in the wind so used an ND to accentuate.
Tech:metered the mid tone render. cropped on the left to remove my hand shading the lens. Adjusted curve to darken mid and shadow tones. Minimal sharpening as I liked it soft in PS

There is an ambiance, in this photo, with a perfect B&W processing as usual.
Maybe just a small lack of sharpness here (compression ?).

I agree, a fine compo, and an interesting TE type of subject. I also noticed the lack of sharpnes that Yves mentions, though it looks to me more as though the angle resulted in some glare, which has been PPed out.

Très belle utilisation du b&w et très bonne présentation.
Felicitations Richard !

Nice composition with the diverging lines on the building. I personally think that the frame is a little wide and I prefer photo gray rather than black, but that's just me. Great shot.

Hi Richard! Nice shot again. B&w tones - perfect, it's the last time I write this, it's just obvious with your images.
For me this white graffities make this picture as well as the withe grass in the lower left corner.
Great image, why so little points?

I like the graffiti on the building and the textures you captured on the building's sides. Interesting that you liked it soft. I would have cropped a little on top, but that is personal taste. Could you tell me if the bush on the lower left is in focus. Just curious to see the dof range of your lens.

I like your image as it is - a bit unsharp and blurry. Gives me some surreal fealing.
Well done.

This composition is well managed, with good light and DOF. The B&W works perfectly.

Alexandre

Sorry, pts tomorrow.

Another fine example of your B&W technique Richard. It proves that just about anything can become a work of art.

Hello Richard,
you created a very evocative image this time too...I like the pov and the light. Very well done as always!

very nice shot here, I like the structure here, it stands out alot and it looks like it is in a deserted area too, well done

i have a strange feeling when i look at this post... seems a bit surrealistic, maybe the reflection on the window makes me think this... nice compo...

Great image - the trees are a bit 'smooth' though?

Hi Richard,

Another great photograph. The grafitti, a common demise of a number of buildings unnecessarily applied by the youth of today, prolific across the continent I see! A great pity that, often monuments left unloved for a small period, fall victim of this vandalism.

Overall a great job. I'm partially irritated by the small OE to the LHS of the building, but not a major issue. As always, your accompanying teccy note worthy of praise.

Well done & good weekend to you,

Regards, Vic, Singapore.

For some reason, my eye is instantly drawn to the graffiti. Perhaps it's the curving shape that contrasts with the hard lines of the building. In any case, I like the effect. I also enjoy the softness here, and its contrast with the structure's hard lines again.
