Photographer’s Note

We are still at Flensburg Fjord, the place is Brunsnaes where I spotted this lonely sailor on his way to Flensburg on a day with extremely poor weather. Before the next rainfall the sun was coming through the clouds for some minutes.
The Danish-German border region is a coastal region with very good wind conditions and the singular location on a peninsula between the North and the Baltic Sea causes an exceptional climate, varied weather, and makes the weather forecast a difficult task at times. Normally the winters and the summers are relatively wet, but in August 2008 the number of rainy days had been high above average.
As you can see, Flensburg Fjord is not only a fantastic area for yachtsmen. There are also numerous sandy beaches, exciting diving spots and ideal surfing beaches. And there are many places with good cod and sea trout fishing and the gently rolling countryside with shady woods is ideal for cycling or walking.

Are you sure it is f91!? So it's not only the UK that has had a wetter than average August! You have captured the choppy water particularly well and the hazy background tells its own story of the rain. I think I might have preferred the yacht was not so central. Further left might have been better so he has more of the frame in front of him. Nevertheless a good maritime image.

I like the colours and the mood of the photo which goes very well with the title :)
As far as the composition is concerned... well, I think it's a matter of taste, maybe. I like it this way, though maybe the variant suggested by Kath ("feather") would be nice, too!

The dull tones of blue and the nicely captured choppy water illustrate your meaning perfectly. The composition is good but I would have preferred to see the focal point just a little less central; maybe a little left.

Interesting note about the climate and wind conditions for the sport games on water, I see here the water is not silent with waves, good pov to include houses at oppesite, thanks for shairng a nice place.

I can still vividly remember being up in Oregon, U.S recently and it was raining and windy by the coast, this takes me back there with the rain and choppy water. I can hear the sound of the wind and wave and the smell of the ocean. Good image considering the low light, good composition and detail. Thanks

Nice shot, I wish the subject wasn't so centred also I would perhaps add more contrast and brightness.

The faded look of the atmosphere gives a very interesting appeal to this sailboat capture making it appear like early morning fog. Nicely captured composition although I wish the boat is off center, a few seconds to wait before shutter click.
