Photographer’s Note

Cape Kamenjak – the southernmost tip of Istria – is a protected landscape 9.5 km long, 1.5 km wide, with altogether 30 km of indented coastline. No place in the world is the sea so blue-green, so clean as here at the southernmost tip of Istria. There are plenty of rocky beaches, as well as pebbly coves.

Cape Kamenjak used to be a military area but it was proclaimed a protected landscape in 1996 and opened for the public. Cars must pay an entrance fee and tourists are not allowed to stay overnight.

The great attraction of Cape Kamenjak is jumping into the sea from high cliffs (this one is about 10 metres).
