Photographer’s Note

Thank you to those who posted comments! Being new I didn't realize I should put a note with my picture. This was taken on the Lake Michigan shoreline, just south of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Michigan has approximately 116 lighthouses, more than any other state!

How lovely! Great lighting and color. A description or story always adds dimension to a photo however. Keep up the good work!

Firstly, welcome to TE and secondly, good first image. Impressive light that helps creating an imposing texture on the snow. Good palette of hues, particularly the blues.
Nice.
I cannot help wishing you would have posted a note for a bit of background to your image.

hi Kristine,
always great to welcome namesake :) especially with such a great photo as a first post. love the clear light and beautiful sky, the cold seems to radiate from the shot. the footprints in the foreground create great lead-in lines towards the house, I like that a lot.
and I agree with Maria - a note would be great, although it's absence does not make the photo worse.

Hi Kristine, welcom to TE. Very fine landscape for your first post. A not would be useful, presumably that's on Lake Michigan, I'd never really thought of the need for lighthouses on lakes before.

Hi Kristine,
Great initial image to post on TE.
The clear crisp red and white colors to the lighthouse are very well seen against the lovely Feb. blue sky.
The shadows and drifting snow texture to the foreground is very compelling.
I did a workshop to get the blue tint off the snow. I hope you like it.
