Photographer’s Note

Sousse was funded by the Phoenicians (as Hadrumetum) and was flourishing under the domination of Rome, Byzantium and the Arabs. It is now http://www.trekearth.com/upload.phpa very important Tunisian harbour as well as a centre of the olive cultivation region.

The old town is situated on a slightly sloping terrain and is surrounded by a thick curtain strengthened by numerous watch-towers.
