Photographer’s Note
Looking East over Eastern Oregon, standing on the Blue Mountains east of Pendleton, at an elevation of about 5,000 feet.
In the middle distance is the valley south of the small town of Elgin, while in the extreme distance are the Wallowa Mountains, which reach to the region of 10,000 feet. These high mountains on the horizon are approximately 55-60 miles away, giving an idea of the amazing visibility this day. The pictures were taken in the late afternoon, with the benefit of the sun in the south-west behind my right shoulder.
This is a panorama made up of three exposures using Photoshop Elements 6. It has, of course, been drastically resized after cropping and then sharpened for TE.
