Photographer’s Note
The last night of the Republican National Convention here in NYC. The protest at Union Square, that started and ran through and after Bush's speech, was a peaceful gathering of 3000. While I generally don't care much for groups, for once it felt nice to be surrounded by thousands of people who all shared the same thought: get this guy out of office.
Anyhow, the police were generally friendly here and truly seemed to be more in-tune with the notion of keeping things safe on all sides rather than hassling protesters (it was a nice contrast to the horror stories normally associated with Police at protest sites.)
I liked this stoic image of the motorcycles lined up and, yes, I did intend for the main focus on the word "police" with the abstracted form of the bike hulls lining the shot.
Let me know if the lack of light disturbs you or if it somehow adds to the point.
Cheers.

The line of repetitive diagonal police texts with one separate "police" text above them, the decreasing amount of light on the motorcycles and the windows in the background create an unique shot with a bit strange atmosphere. The policeman(?) on the left with a slight reflection of light on his Ray-Bans ;-) is a nice detail. So, I think the lack of light really adds something needed to the image...
