Photographer’s Note
Chuikhim: A small village gearing up as the new eco tourist destination in Darjeeling District.
This village promotes a unique concept of tourism. Mind it there is no hotel or tourist resort of any star or class to boast of its 'xyz' facilities. No conducted tours. No taxi or cabbie line-up. Its just green all around with deep blue sky. Here you actually visit the villagers and stay in their houses. A few village house has been identified for tourist lodging and fooding for a cost. These households keep one of their rooms for the guest. The female members of the house cooks for you and serves you the food and the male members can take you round the village and close by jungles or hill-tops for trekking. A complete different and unique experience. I simply loved it.
This photo was taken while we were travelling from Chuikhim to Lolegaon in an unknown and not-named route which our driver had taken. This was through a jungle and the road was partially lit and sun rays could barely reach the land surface at some places. Simply awesome journey.

paromita dey,
You have captured a very lovely mood of fog with wet greenary. A beatiful composition by including curved path which leads my eyes into woods. The top of the frame is little overexposed though, which can be fixed by cropping.

Hi Paromita,
This is a good composition of the Jungle trail.Love the vertical framing which shows us the big and tall trees as far as we can look up.The serpentine road leads our eyes to the wood. The colour and contrast here is just perfect presenting a nice play of light and shade. Thanks for showing us an unknown face of North Bengal.
Greetings,
Dhurjati

bah....brilliant...very true colors...in fact i have tried a similar shot somewhere en-route sandakphu...it came off quite similar to this...that road really looks very interesting in the mist...specially that curve away at the end is a classic...
Good job
