Crystal Lake, Red Mountains Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken on the edge of the Crystal Lake right next to the "Million Dollar Highway" (a.k.a. State Highway 550) between Ouray and Silverton, which together with 145, 62 and 160 forms part of the "San Juan Skyway". The mountains in the background are called the "Red Mountains" and are part of the "San Juan Mountains" range.

Wonderful dark tones on the mountain .. balanced by the light sky .. the balance of the power of the place with the stillness is wonderful as well .. beautiful light and tone .. very nice. take care, John
