Photographer’s Note

In the small city of Starnberg, located to the south-west of the city of Munich, and reachable in 35 minutes by suburban train (S-Bahn) from Munich's downtown, lies the Lake Starnberg. This is a very nice place, with the highest living standard for Germany --as of the year 2007.
Its train station is located just a few meters from the shore of the lake, and this pier can also be seen from the platforms. Starnberg's city centre is some 10 minutes by foot from this same train station.
I went there with my wife and walked all this area together taking same pictures. Becasue the weather was very nice, we were not the only ones enjoying the place.
From this pier there is a fleet of boats that depart and travel around the lake. I have not make this trip with the boats so it may be worth a trip back to this place to experiment it.
The stones at the bottom of the picture are almost on the shore of the lake, and they had that green tinge. The mountains in the background are the Alps; they have ice on top of them even in summer.
More information on Starnberg available in Wikipedia (in German).
