Torino, a beautiful city worth to visit and to stroll a whole day through the alleys of the city. Everywhere little cafeterias where you can enjoy an expresso, or cappuchino, or latte macchiato, ...

Piazza Castello was designed in 1564 by Vitozzi. It's lined with porticoes and is the real heart of the city: here and hereabouts stand the great buildings that have witnessed the development of the city, from the ancient Roman era to our days. In the middle of the square stands Palazzo Madama and on the side you could see The Royal Theatre, The Royal Palace , the Royal Library (that houses Leonardo da Vinci 's operas). In Piazza Castello (The Castle Square) begin the most important central streets, like Rome Street, Po Street, Garibaldi Street and Pietro Micca Street.

excellent capure, perfect exposure and a beautiful place. The angel of the shot takes the eye down to the centre of the furthest building.

Excellent POV and perspective here placing the fountains in the foreground while giving us an angular view of the buildings. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The angle of the shot leads the eye into the scene nicely providing nice depth and direction.

Very nice cityscape! Excellent sharpness allows us to see details of the beautiful architecture of the buildings around the square! The pov was excellent as well, composing the scene with the fountain on the ground!

Hi Achim,
Good looking large piazza with surrounding classic buildings. Good that no cars are in sight. Nice to see lots of life there. It's a matter of choice between long and short exposure what comes to flowing water. But I think it is interesting to see individual drops frozen on the air like this.

The presrence of people on the Piazza has an effect of scale. The point of view allowing us to see two facades of the buildings is an asset to the composition. The picture is clear and sharp. The luminosity brings out the best of the colors. Have a nice day.

very nice shot of the Piazza Castello. I confess that I took many shots of this square but I was not satisfied with any of them. Maybe I will post one someday. I like the perspective of the buidings and their details. Very well composed!

Hallo Achim,
das Raumgefühl ist hervorragend, wozu der Springbrunnen im Vordergrund eine wesentliche Hilfe leistet. Hervorragend exponiert, das Wasser wirkt wie eine Statue. Ich muss die gute Leistung des Objektivs anerkennen (17 mm ohne erkennbare Verzerrung!), die Farben scheinen aber ziemlich kalt, als ob die Kamera nicht die richtige Farbtemperatur gefunden hätte. (Eine hämische Bemerkung von einem Nikoner.)
