Photographer’s Note

During a small trip through France found I this lovely place, excellent place for mountain bikers and BMX bikers.

Bogny-sur-Meuse result of the merger of three villages: Castle-Regnault, Braux and Levrezy. The merger was effected in 1967.

History from Wekipidea:

Until 1629, Castle-Regnault was the seat of an independent principality. The last sovereign of the Principality were Francis de Bourbon, Prince de Conti and Louise Marguerite de Lorraine. Prince de Conti was a prince of royal blood, his cousin was none other than King Henry IV. For its part, the princess was the daughter of the previous sovereign Castle-Regnault: Henri Scarface. The reign of Prince lasted until 1615. Thereafter the princess kept the Principality until the date of 1629, where she gave to King Louis XIII.

Bogny-sur-Meuse résulte de la fusion de trois villages : Château-Regnault, Braux et Levrezy. Cette fusion s'est opérée en 1967.

Jusqu'en 1629, Château-Regnault était le siège d'une principauté indépendante. Les derniers souverains de cette principauté furent François de Bourbon, prince de Conti et Louise Marguerite de Lorraine. Le prince de Conti était un prince du sang royal, son cousin germain n'était autre que le roi Henri IV. De son côté, la princesse était la fille du précedent souverain de Château-Regnault : Henri le Balafré. Le règne du prince dura jusqu'en 1615. Par la suite la princesse conserva la principauté jusqu'à la date de 1629, où elle la céda au roi Louis XIII.

Hi John.
A very peaceful rural landscape, with a little village that looks so welcoming. A pleasing composition with so many lovely green tones, and a nice curving horizon. The cloudy sky adds some depth and a certain mood to the photo, too.

Het is zeker een mooi gebied John.
over een aantal wekend ga ik er nog een weekje naartoe. Bij een dergelijke foto moet je eigelijk gewoon ook geluk hebben met de elementen. een hoge huishoutrap erbij en dan hopen dat je de hele curl van de rivier op foto vast kunt leggen. John U heeft hier het maximale bereikt met de elementen, zeer goed werk. prettige dag verder.

Hi John,

The use of a wide angle lens is giving a panoramic view of the valley and mountains. The point of view is giving depth to the photo. The different shapes and lines of the scenery are assets to the composition. The good luminosity is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Bonjour John,
une très belle palette riche en verdure, beaucoup de nuances qui tranchzent vraiment bien, tout autant que celles de gris se détachent dans le ciel.
L'horizon montre que la photo a été retravaillée, mais pour une plus grande splendeur des lumières.

U heeft dit lieflijke dal waar het me inderdaad goed mountainbiken lijkt, zeer fraai vastgelegd, John! Er zit een enorme diepte in en de lijnen in het landschap komen uitstekend en sprekend tot uiting. De definitie is perfect - de kleine lensopening was een uitstekende keuze. Mooi werk !
Een fijn weekend toegewenst uit een grijs en regenachtig Rotterdam bij 16 graden.

The place is so beautiful.From your high POV, we catch a glimpse of the meandering river & the three villages nestling on it's banks. The green of the foliage is lush. A fine use of the wide angle, more evidenced in the clouds. Lovely shot!
