Photographer’s Note

The island of Symi, part of the Dodecanese, is visible from the Turkish mainland and reachable by boat in a short time, an hour or two. It is fun to visit its port and coves for a day or two. There are nice restaurants, blue and white boats, colorful houses most of them built in the traditional greek style. I don't believe that this house was painted in such bright colors during the old days, but its owners apparently tried to attract tourists by doing it. Painting stairs has become a common pratice in greek islands.
