Cozy House at Symi Photo

Photographer’s Note

The island of Symi, part of the Dodecanese, is visible from the Turkish mainland and reachable by boat in a short time, an hour or two. It is fun to visit its port and coves for a day or two. There are nice restaurants,blue and white boats, colorful houses most of them built in the traditional greek style. I don't believe that this house was painted in such bright colors during the old days, but its owners apparently tried to attract tourists by doing it. Painting stairs has become a common pratice in greek islands.

Merhaba izzet; i think that at Symi/Yunanistan a turkish serial about the love of a greek man and a turkish woman has been filmed: Yabanci Damat. Isn't it? Nice colors and excellent light!

Hello Izzet! Symi seems to be a wonderful place and what I like about your photo is the yellow light that comes from the little shop window, a warm light that makes you feel at home straight away and there is no doubt that you want to go inside and see what they have for you. Bu güzel ve renkli adadan etkileyici , sıcacık bir kareyle dönmüşsünüz.
En çok duvardaki turuncu üzerine sarı boyalı deseni sevdim.Merdivenlerdeki harfler neyi ifade ediyor diye de merak ettim...

Traditional or not, those vivid colours aid much the attractiveness of the photo. You exploited the colours very well, but also the graphics of the windows, door and step, the whole ensemble make a wonderful compo. The artificial light coming from inside the window seems to give a touch of joy the the atmosphere of the image.
