Photographer’s Note

Loosdrecht, a water sports fan’s paradise, offers many possibilities for a wonderful day out or a fabulous holiday. Five interconnected lakes offer a stunning 3,600 hectares of major aquatic delight. The water is clean enough for fishing, swimming and exceptional flora and fauna. The dikes around the lakes are scattered with authentic farm houses, elegant country manors, marinas,

The River Vecht and the lakes near Vinkeveen and Loosdrecht dominate the landscape of this area, dotted with towns such as Loenen, Breukelen and Maarssen.

The gorgeous country estates and elegant tea gazebos constructed by wealthy Amsterdam merchants during the 17th and 18th century are the most characteristic features of this area. The Vinkeveen and Loosdrecht lakes owe their existence to centuries of peat digging. These lakes are bordered by lots of picturesque, cosy villages.

I was weating on the sun here and yes for a moment he was there. I hope you like the shot here.

Dag, Jaap. Een zeer goede compositie waar u zeker gelijk had zoveel ruimte aan de lucht te laten. Het huis is zeer goed geplaatst in de compositie rechts van de bomen en op het einde van de diagonale lijn van de oever. Zeer goed licht.

Impressive shot, very rural one. The outstretched leafless tree and the old house emphasize that a lot. The muddy water and the sky compliments each other pretty well with the light slightly coming out from one side.

Worth waiting for the sun Jaap, especially for the light on the trees. Excellent POV; it looks as if it might have been a bit precarious so close to the water. :D I also like the wonderful detail and "texture" you have captured in the rough water.

The viewpoint has been used in the best position to capture the lens with a beautiful scene.

In the foreground, a lake house accompanied by a depopulated tree, with beautiful tones and a vibrant setting. The plane later in the depth of field, a few clouds threatening rain, coupled with the threat that the rising tide.

That it was windy is evidenced from the choppy waters. It does appear that you stood just at the edge to take this shot! And it was worth waiting for the sun especially for the light on the trees & grass. The excellent POV also is an asset here with the house located in the thirds.

Olá Jaap, what a wonderful place to live, over the water. I tried that once in Laos and it was a fantastic experience. One of the things I love the most here is the texture of the water and in FG it's so alive. The sunny grass at left is also a warm touch and it's nice to feel that warm in the naked trees as well. It's a great shot as usual.
