Photographer’s Note
Hello,
The last WE at the time of the days of the inheritance, I was visited the reserves of the MAE in Dugny (near Paris). I had the chance that a colonel with the retirement makes me pass behind the barriers and I fell on a plane whose history is at the very least original: a unique Caudron 714R who was built in spring 1939 in Issy the moulineaux for beaten the record of the world speed.
Although it doors the number 714R it is in fact a exptrapolation of the 713 (but at the same Caudron time launches a fighter the 714 Cyclone and that did better that made better do advertizing with this new hunter).
With the fall of Paris, the plane was hidden in a back room of the Publicis Drugstore on the Fields and irony, German never found it.
It should be said that it is rather small: 8.97 m of scale for 8.53 m length
With the release, it was exposed on the Chmaps Elysées but roof for a plane, it never flew: indeed, it never received its engine.
Lastly, this plane although single all because it marked us a little is partly him which was creates the Swordfish of the comic strip Blake and Mortimer.
Just with with dimensions of him there was also another single part: Caudron C366 Single-engined aircraft of race. 1 specimen built for the Deutch Cut of Meurthe 1933. Having mown its train during the tests, it which been able to take part in the competition, but it is another history...
