Photographer’s Note
Further to the allied bomardements of 1943 and the last battles of 1945, the church is seriously harmed, and serves since of memorial to the victims of conflict. The architect Egon Eiermann constructs then a resolutely modern church while keeping the ruins of the ancient building.
