Photographer’s Note
The image was taken from the Silverhorn, which is a secondary peak, during the descent of Mt. Athabasca on the normal route. To put matters in perspective, the three dots that can be seen on top of the ridge are three climbers that have just started their descent. On bottom right one sees a small piece of the Saskatchewan Glacier that flows out of the Columbia Icefield and is the origin of the North Saskatchewan River. In the background, numerous glaciated peaks that stretch as far as the eye can see into British Columbia.

Hi Roland,
I really like this compo which shows us the way towards the summit. The little black dots give us a good idea of the scale and it looks like you had some great weather for your climb.
Cheers.

Salut Roland!
Emilius

Hi Roland!
I do love mountain landscapes and this photo of yours is superb!
Loved the pov and sharpness, as I can even see small dots on top of the mountain top on the left side - human beings, for sure - which is very interesting and nice!
TFS - Congratulations!

Hi Roland,
what a spectacular view! The three dots on the top give only an idea of the dimensions of the wonderful landscape. Also the nice foreground with the footsteps on the snow and the the pebbles inhance the huge depth of the image ...

Bonjour Roland,
Une très belle vue de haute montagne. J'aime bien les alpinistes qui ont laissé la trace de leur passage dans la neige. Magnifique POV.
Amitiés.

Man, I wish I was there right now, severeal noteworthy things here that at first escape the attention:
the tiny climbers on the ridge at top left, the incredibly steep glacier that spills from the icefield at lower right, and of course the flat tounge of the Sask glacier below it, which thankfully hasn't melted yet.
