Photographer’s Note
I was looking up and wondering what would be the effect while taking those bugs flying underneath the spotlight, I took a few shot at differenty shutter speed. I don't know if the effect would have change a lot but I did it whitout a tripod.

Great shot Pierre, very unique. At first glance I actually though it was an old desk lamp covered in spiderwebs! haha
I'm actually surprised that it turned out as well as it did not using a tripod.
I'd be interested in seeing a shot where you used a tripod- or maybe I'll give it a try myself- hahaha
Well done!

Wow, what an inivative idea Pierre! It's one of those ya look at and think "I see this all the time...Now, why didn't I think of that?" :) Very good idea with a great outcome. I bet you held your breath while taking this to minimize movement huh...Looks really cool

J'aime beaucoup.

A unusual picture Pierre, with an tripod where maybe better, but this is very pretty. Well seen!

Salut Pierre,
what a strange effect, without your note I would never be able to understand what is this subject...very creative idea!

What an amazing idea, Pierre, and very well executed and turned into an effective photo. I really like the maze of random insect traces you got below the spotlight. Very good! I think it would be better without the frame though.

That is weird--in a good way. Thanks for the experiment. I actually like the motion blur of the lamp, which emphasizes the stationary bug tracks--even though the bugs were the ones that were moving. So there is a lot of depth here!

Oh very original and interesting shot - You captured one second of action in this fine image. Thanks for sharing Pierre - this also a reminder of a never posted shot - which I have to post after seeing this.

My first impression was a mess of barbed wire, Pierre. And then - reading your note - I see what it actually is and find the idea excellent. It's possible that the shot might have improved if using a tripod, as the lamppost (the only thing being static) is showing your motion. I tried a tighter crop, without a frame, in a WS to see if there's any difference. Well spotted and well done!

Salut Pierre :)

Nice view, at the first time, I have think that it was snowing under the light (like my picture in Russia). But yours make something different because the bugs are flying in every direction. Good picture without a tripod.
Well done Pierre

How could one see this photo and not leave a critique?
Not only that the idea is great, but the execution and the outcome are superb!

I was going through the old pics in my gallery when I came across your comment on this picture of mine. Somehow, I had overlooked your comment then. Sorry for that.
Finally today I saw this picture of yours. I like the cobwe b effect that you created here.
It's so uncanny that just four days after you posted this I posted mine!!!

J'aime bien
