Photographer’s Note

We troubled ourselfs for quite some time this day. What appeared to be a nice hike in the Dolomites (a day of our trip on the Zoldo Ring) began with rain, changed to showers, was interupted with a cloud break and finished with torrential downpour! We were soaked, cold and tired when we finished our hike at the refugio.

That evening we were blessed with clarity and a beautiful sunset - which made all the suffering worth it.

Hi Dan,
I think this picture is a mirror of your day, with the dramtic angle of dark shadow leading to an explosion of light and detail and in the distance, more mountain.

Hi Dan,

is this a photo of Antelao? I've been there about 5 years ago and had to turn back roughly 30 vertical meters below summit.
