Portsmouth, New Hampshire - US Route 1 approaches the WWI Veteran's Memorial Bridge, crossing the Piscataqua River into Kittery, Maine. The 2,377 mile (3,825 km) federal highway begins in Key West, Florida, and runs north along the entire American eastern seaboard, passing through Miami, Jacksonville, Richmond, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Providence, Boston, and Portland, before ending in Fort Kent, Maine at the Canadian border.
