~Father & Son~ Photo

Photographer’s Note

Thousands of people come from all over India to bathe in the sacred waters of the Ganges River. Every morning the bathing ritual can be observed along the bathing ghats. I particularly liked this image of a father and his son.

This image is from a scanned photo taken in 2000 on a Canon EOS 400.

Interesting moment captured here. The view is very still, and the people look very focused on what they are doing. Thanks for showing that!

Hi Michele,
Thanks for uploading a shot of the Mother Ganges.
This is not just a river, Ganges is a way of lige, a mother to all the Indians.
You must have seen and onserved by yourself.
I like the digaonla perspective which you hav composed.
It gives the required depth.
One thing I would like to know............
Why did you post a smaller version.
Agreed it is scanned, but you can add a broad frame to this shot.
I have just made a workshop for the same.
Do let me know your opinion.

I heard that Ganges river is quite dirty ...now I know why :)

It is of course not soap which makes the Ganga polluted. It's the sewage dumped into by cities like Varanasi and the industrial waste from factories farther upstream.

I'm amazed that a scanned photo can come out so clear and crisp. What kind of scanner do you have? It's great!
