Photographer’s Note

Slovenian tourist materials are full of views of the church on the island Lake Bled and give much less place to the church located on the other famous slovenian lake Bohinj.
Located in the tiny village named Ribcev Laz, this church marks the end of the lake where the water flows under the bridge into a small river.
The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist, a patron saint to whom old churches beside lakes or on the banks of rivers were often dedicated. It is built on a west-east orientation and is surrounded by an old cemetery wall with two entrances.
The place is a favourite spot for tourists who gather on the bridge to watch the view on the lake and the numerous trouts that swim there and can be very well observed through the crystal clear water.
This photo has been taken by the end of afternoon from a small boat on the lake.
