Altar detail at the church of the Melk Abbey.
Post processing was a bit difficult, since a shaft of light illuminated the center, and I was trying to control over exposure. I managed to reduce that with curves, then bringing out the shadier parts again with the history brush. Centered and cropped, then downsized.

Hi Otto,

The postprocessing did a very good job to this image then. The altar is precious with so many details. The light is also very effective to highlight the middle section. Nice sharpness and colours. Thanks Otto.

The details in the altar are well reproduced, nice warm colours and the image has a fine feeling of depth...

Hi Otto,

I really like the way the middle section is highlighted and the symmetry is perfect and the sharpness is very good as well. I am sorry to come back to lighting conditions but this is something that interests me a lot. The central part is unfortunately slightly overexposed. Personally I would have tried to go a little bit nearer in order to limit the darker areas to the left and right and at the bottom or used the flash (the small one on the camera). I think that the sunlight would have been stronger anyway and the reflections from the dark wall would have not too strong. It would only have meant a little more light on the candle-sticks. TFS and have a nice day!
