Photographer’s Note

I had visited the place during the afternoon to find a suitable angle. No time to loose as I wanted to take this picture and then rush down the hill, cross the bridge and shoot the town from the other side of the river Loire before the sky got too dark.

It was the pefect time to be there. In july, the sun sets just behind the castle. So when the lights turn on, the contrast between sky and castle is naturally (or artificially should I say) reduced.

Stitched from 2 horizontal pictures.

Post-processing: Contrast Mask (it always helps)

An extremely beautiful blue hour capture with amgnificently glowing lights and vibrant energetic colours and etxtures. I like the way you have composed the image. Great shot indeed.

Excellent blue hour shot with great sharpness and detail. The blending of artificial and natural lighting is great giving us a very natural looking scene. Your composition is outstanding with the castle placed to one side with the river and bridges on the other.

A good POV and a good composition Nicolas.
The warm glow of the lights by the chateau balance the lights in the distance on the bridge.

Hey Nicolas,

A beautiful photo, with nice exposition and colors. The DOF brings out the best in the landscape (interesting background).

Thanks for pointing out that one of my photos is tilted, I don`t have a good eye for that, so appreciate it (as well as the WS).
