The hard work of the Grandfather Photo

Photographer’s Note

When in the past saturday morning, walking to the bakery, i saw this grandfather with his young grandson i've took immediately a picture...
We were went up on the Lago Maggiore the night before, where my parents and my children were having good time from some days...

I found my parents...old...oldest than some days before...Both are Under 70's, but for the first time in my life i saw them as old people.
Tired by the young children, tired to spent a day running in the morning and swimming all the afternoon, then there is the lunch, the dinner, the read a fairy tale to the grandson, then during the night give the milk to the grandaughter....

We are tired, and we have not yet 39 years!

So, when i saw that couple i must take a picture!
The view was took looking to the Piedmont shore of Lago Maggiore, in the tiny village of Porto Valtravaglia, looking in the foreground the small harbour, everyday full of ducks and swans.

Ciao Paolo, rieccoti.
Questa è una di quelle immagini che mi piacciono in particolar modo, perchè ha un "movimento" tutto particolare, definito da linee e traiettorie che sono un vero e proprio rompicapo. La ringhiera è perfettamente orizzontale (rispetto al punto di visuale), ma in realtà il molo è in prospettiva, e così anche le barche ormeggiate, che seguono una linea di fuga. Su una retta prospetticamente perpendicolare a questa linea è la barca sulla destra.

Like this shot. very clear shot, good details, one minor. a shame you have not took the front of the boat one the left that would made the shot better, but even I like it, have a nice day Paolo.

Beautiful daily life scene, to me it seems no dificult or hard work that of a grandfather, I think that when my time comes to be one, it will be my most pleasant "duty" to take a walk with my grandson! Excellent composition and framing, great light managment! Congratulations!

Things have changed a lot in the UK as I expect they have in other countries. Today both parents need to work to keep a reasonable standard of life so more and more grandparents are doing the childcare. Good early morning feeling with boats and ducks to entertain the grandson.

Wonderful details and colors, especially in the foreground with the birds swimmimng and the superb reflections on the water. The sk, overcast with clouds looks very nice too.

Interesting to see your composition of this view from other side of the water and you gave more space to the foreground and boat which is showing the ducks swimming on water.
