Photographer’s Note
This a reposting of an earlier photo as a result of critiques. The obvious change is getting the levels right - the boats are no longer slipping off the left hand edge. I've also done a little work on the contrast.
Lord Howe Island is off the coast of NSW. The whole island is a national park and numbers of visitors are strictly limited. For many years access was by a flying boat that took off from Sydney harbour and landed in this lagoon.
The island is truly beautiful and has good walking, climbing (the peaks in the background), swimming and fishing. There aren't many cars so the place is very peaceful.
Scanned from negative.

Hello Ian,
I may be the only french lucky enough to know this place. I like you picture because it shows very well the place and the atmosphere there : Quiet, nature and wind. Colors are great and this see/montain view is nice. (I never saw mount gowel's peek though I climbed it !).
Your scan from film is OK but what I do now when I scan films is bluring a bit the sky (photoshop controlled bluring filter)just to atenuate the noise effect in the sky (dots, grain of film).
I'll have a look to your gallery.

on dirait une peinture sur lequel le peintre a poser les bateaux et les palmiers. Des parcs maritimes sont aussi essentiels que les parcs terrestres.
